This depiction of the Last Supper by Fra Angelico was painted in 1446, think of it. In it, Christ is seen serving the elements to his disciples, which seems more in keeping with what we know of him than the traditional scene where he is seated among them. The upper room has a primitive quality which lends authenticity but Jesus has just washed their feet and I wonder if they knelt. I believe there was plenty of kneeling, but by angels who no doubt filled the room. A great deal of artistic content, maybe even a majority, has centered around Christianity throughout the centuries, but today?
