- This man is an extraordinary genius. If you ever get the chance to see any of his works in person, take it. He's known for finding the organic in the mechanic, and has constructed many Rube Goldberg-like machines too. He's just released a collection of videos of his sculptures on DVD, but you can watch shorter, compressed videos of the sculptures in action on the site. Enjoy! BTW, he's released a toy called "Cat-a-pult" that consists of five platform launch pads and several foam cats. Set up in a series, the cats bounce/fly from platform to platform. Absolutely brilliant!

- I've always loved this guy's work. He's one of the few post-19th century artists that I can take people new to art to and know they'll be engaged, entertained, and inspired instead of confused, alienated, or even offended. That's not saying anything bad about other artists, of course; just that Ganson's sense of wonder and play create an environment that is as inviting as it is, well, beautiful.
