The passing of Arthur C. Clarke is the passing of a great
and grand thinker...I've enjoyed many of his books and film adaptations...recently
during my Science Fiction Seminar (at the school where I teach) we watched 2001:A
Space Odyssey...I'm going to miss one of the Great Masters of SF...

Arthur C. Clarke's three laws of prediction are as follows: 1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong. 2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible. 3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Sad news, but I am pleased to note how many people share my esteem for him.

Many people affect your life. Some make a huge impression early that stays with you for the rest of your life. For me Arthur C Clarke was one of those people. His works introduced me to a world that has been a large part of my life. I cannot say anything smart or witty. Just good bye from a fan and thank you for enriching my life. Thanks to JessieColt for discovering this.

Arthur C. Clarke, one of the greatest writers of science fiction and science fact, died early Wednesday in Sri Lanka. Thanks for the novels, and for making me love science even more.
