Hooray for a non-ubuntu Linux stumble!

A linux distro with a perfect mix of 'hands-on' and 'hands-off'. The install is a bit more rigorous than Ubuntu, but the system can be made to work exactly as you want it to - compile your programs to run optimally, download the latest copies of a program off the AUR, deck it out with shiny video stuff. My only complaint is that sometimes their 'hands on' approach sometimes conflicts with their KISS approach, meaning long times spent reading the wiki or dredging through forums to do stuff other distros manage to integrate seamlessly with default options. Overall, it's my favorite distros and the one I use the most.

Trying this out for the first time...not sure I get all the lightness and agility as am also trying out KDE4.... Still...at least I was able to get my video card properly configured so that I could get X up and running...maybe I am learning something after all these years playing with linux (going on 9). And of course...as soon as everything was running...had to get my Stumbleupon...

A very awesome distro. I use it for my main OS right now. Follows KISS principles, and very easy/simple to use. "Worse is better" :) The wiki and bbs are very helpful, also.

Best distro ever! I don't know what it is about Arch that makes it....fun. Those who say that Arch isn't easy......there's a wiki article documenting practically every task.

I've just changed over to Arch a few days ago for use as my hercules emulator box due to the low resource requirements. It seems like a cross between Slackware and FreeBSD. I'm really enjoying the simple elegance, and the build up from the basics philosophy.
