Based on ECLIPSE (so, already, some of you will download it, some of you will run if you hate eclipse), it's hard to tell nonetheless. Very responsive, and rather mixxed feelings on stability. It mostly causes my browser to weep incessantly, making little pools of memory leaks. That said, I... more

I use Aptana all the time for PHP, CSS and HTML. Very handy, though the Linux version is unstable.

Based on ECLIPSE (so, already, some of you will download it, some of you will run if you hate eclipse), it's hard to tell nonetheless. Very responsive, and rather mixxed feelings on stability. It mostly causes my browser to weep incessantly, making little pools of memory leaks. That said, I am heartily convinced that when you have a bug to crush with web design, Aptana will pull you through. The thing has a large list of AJAX tech that it supports, and it'll work with firebug for some pretty awesome debugging capabilities. That all said, it's still java, and you'll have some slow moments here and there if you are doing something intense (not the usual case with web design, but it can happen to be sure). I suggest you put it in a corner and go there when you need it, enjoy it, then run. Trying to do everything in it might get a little slow, but not using it at all is like turning a blind eye. A delicate balance, and it's crushed all my serious bugs, and the lighter ones... just using something like the SPRY debugger will fix those in a heartbeat. Good job, APTANA. Now don't screw this up ;D
