Dingus rated 9 days ago- Installing and maintaining manually is not difficult, but this is just a good time saver!

- I agree with lotyrin.

dtanner89 rated 3 months ago- My new favorite for testing sites before they go mainstream.

lotyrin rated 4 months ago- Actually... It is pretty damn easy to do it yourself, I really do not understand the point.
Installing XAMPP makes things harder, since the package manager is no longer in control of these applications.
It's uselessly complicating things to do it this way.- Actually... It is pretty damn easy to do it yourself, I really do not understand the point.

chewxy rated 4 months ago- I use XAMPP myself :D, so, way to go

- Reminds me of VertigoServ which also installs a useful control panel interface for Apache, MyPHPAdmin and MySQLAdmin. All these bundled installers for open source software are a huge time saver for newbies.

tstephen rated 8 months ago- I've used this one myself... found it very useful

- From the page: "Many people know from their own experience that it's not easy to install an Apache web server and it gets harder if you want to add MySQL, PHP and Perl."
If you are using Linux, please ask for help to install Apache, MySQL, Perl, PHP, FTP, etc. With Red Hat, this is simple. With debian, Ubuntu, etc., it is even easier. Working within your distribution's package management system will make you life incredibly easier. Seriously -- if you are running Linux, you DO NOT NEED XAMPP. - From the page: "Many people know from their own experience that it's not easy to install an Apache web server and it gets harder if you want to add MySQL, PHP and Perl."
