someone stole my idea: music starts out free and automatically grows in price as it grows in popularity. caters to both those who can't afford or don't want to pay for music, or like obscure artists, as well as those who just want to get in and buy what is popular. embraces the mentality of the digital age, where supply is infinite and demand is the sole driver of price. this also allows anybody allow to upload their music and get it out there, for free, and still be rewarded if they take off. This is the future of the music industry.

Fantastic independent music site. I've been able to get less known music here for more reasonable prices than iTunes, etc., that can't get off of other sites.

Amie Street is the best independent music site I have found on the internet. It allows both artists and enthusiasts an opportunity to release and/or browse music of all kinds. Users can also earn credits based on reviews/recommendations they make. An excellent, excellent website.

AmieStreet is a music download shop. Mostly indie music, but some big name indie if that makes sense. The music is DRM free, high quality encoded mp3s. The price is set by demand, but rarely gets to $10 an album. I've got some great stuff for about $3.00 an album. I highly recommend St. Vincent, though it's only available from within the U.S due to licensing issues, so I didn't buy it from here. One of the best things about this shop, is they give you a 'library' of all the tracks you've purchased and you can re-download them any time. This is the first music download shop I've been willing to buy anything.

One of the best things about this site is the number of new bands. Amie Street lets you hear bands that otherwise would never get any exposure.
