Great article... means that the process works. I just hope they don't pork barrel a bill into place.

From the page: "Regardless of what side of the issue you come down on, whether you backed the bailout bill or were against it, yesterday's resounding defeat of the bill does have something to it that should make every American very happy. In that vote we saw a very clear example of how members of Congress actually work for the taxpayer. "

It is hard for me as a Canadian to watch the American talk about this stuff. I don't think you guys really understand what government can do for banks. At the same time i think your mis-trust for your own government comes from somewhere. You love your country and love your own democracy but don't want your own government to do anything for you - but complain all the time that your government does nothing for you... figure out what you want!

A great article about the failed bail out and the credit crisis as it applies to business.

Reminding Congress Who It Works For

Personally, I don't believe that it will pass. Everytime the House collides with the Senate the bill is tabled. This too will not make it. The author is right: the members of the Senate and the House know that they are facing re-election and they know that if they vote for this, their cush jobs are at risk. So, Pelosi was right, she told her buds not to vote and they didn't. In no way, does this bloated piece of work benefit the taxpayer. Mark!

It is good to be reminded of that fact. Seems the people in the government feel we work for them instead of the other way around.

From the page: "There were two reasons for the failure of the $700 billion Wall Street bailout bill. One was a barrage of angry phone calls from constituents who stated their opposition to the bill. It seems that the American people were not happy with the idea of giving people with that much personal responsibility for the mess (Paulson, former CEO of Goldman Sachs, Dodd and Frank who were instrumental in creating the problem in the first placeā€"the list goes on and on) the money and authority to bail out their Wall Street pals."
