Maybe I'm just a little slow on the uptake as I sometimes tend to be when it comes to matters of technology, but did you have any idea you could upload ebooks to your iPod?? I sure didn't. This is a very cool and handy web-based converter that takes large text files -- like the ones you can download from sites like Project Gutenberg -- and converts them to notes you can page through and read on your iPod. It works very well, too. I uploaded Silas Marner to mine last night and had a blast reading it while I listened to music and such.

I don't have and am not planning to have an Ipod; thus this page is useless to me. It seems to be a good way to use up some space on your Ipod if you have it.

You can also read an iPod This is a handy little utility for splitting book-sized texts into chunks that fit on an iPod. All the notes are automatically linked, so you can move from one to another with ease - "as simple as turning pages of a book." You may never want to read a book on an iPod, but since I started using iPod eBook Creator, I find it invaluable for storing favourite poems or short stories to take some tedium out of waiting rooms or airports. I've even used it to rehearse a talk I had to give. You can download plain text books and stories from Project Gutenberg, of course. iPod Creator is simplicity to use - just have your plain text file ready, go to this web site and upload it. The site instantly makes a Zip file of the pieces, and gives you 24 hours to download it and put the files in your iPod Notes directory. The Creator can process East European languages and convert any characters with diacritical marks to plain characters, like the German "u" with diaresis or variants of letters with tilde, grave, acute, circumflex and so on.

reading anything on an iPOD, let alone a whole book sounds awful.

This is so great! I don't think I would read a whole book on it but I wanted to skim some Whitman tonight before bed and this is perfect! (can't find my book)
