SurtyrFoesmasher discovered 10 months ago- Whoever thought we were going to illegally invade and occupy the country of Iraq purely for humanitarian reasons are so naive as to be pitied. It was never about deposing a ruthless dictator (the U.S. still has plenty still on the payrolls and some make Saddam look like a Sunday school teacher), stopping a WMD program (Pakistan has been selling, illegally, nuclear know how for years, all the while being our close buddy in the GWOT. and Israel obtained their nuclear know how through the espionage game so it isn't about countries who aren't signatories of the nuclear nonproliferation treaty being "nuklur" powers), or even as punishment for the breaking of U.N. mandates (Israel is up to 61 or so violations, which is about 47 or 48 more than Iraq piled up under Saddam). It wasn't even about U.S. oil companies making obscene profits from the sale of newly "freed" Iraqi oil. It WAS about controlling access to the oil. Period. Countries friendly to the U.S. will be able to line up and partake, and if you are on the other side, the side of the Evil Doers, then you can just suck it. This is why we committed so many crimes to occupy Iraq, and more importantly its' oil fields.
