It weirds me out that they call a boat "she". Why not just call it "it", it's a boat. Has no vagina. Or does it...?

This is one huge chunk of metal to be floating on the sea. I wonder how many days it takes to turn round? On the high seas, power gives way to sail.........yeah right.
