It's not really something you can just declare, it's a damn opinion. How is this a story?

this is completely opinion, and who really cares about a norwegian guy's opinion on american history? most of the people digging this probably are just happy to have their opinion on GW confirmed by an 'authority'

Utter garbage. Yeah, George W. was a crap president, but there have been worse, and Lincoln wasn't even close to the best. FDR was awful. The New Deal was a bunch of socialist programs. Woodrow Wilson was Mr. Interventionist. He wanted to get into every other country's business. In fact, Bush took a lot of plays from his book. What an idiot.

Professor Ole Moen is a world renowned political scientist who focuses on the study of the American political system. It's always interesting to get an outsider's academic view of our politics. his list of the best 5 US presidents: 1) Lincoln 2) FDR 3) Washington 4) Jefferson 5) Woodrow Wilson Whom does he list as worst? You have to ask? Who took a surplus and turned it into a record deficit, destabilized world politics and the domestic economy, and started the most useless war in more than a century? You could make arguments about other bad presidents - particularly LBJ and Nixon - but what is mystifying is the number of ignoramuses in this country who believe that Franklin Roosevelt was actually a bad president. Here is a president who took over a country in a depression and then had a world war thrust upon him. He managed both admirably. These were the two greatest crises in 20th century American history and one president managed to solve both crises. How he could be listed by anyone as one of the worst presidents in American history is a sign of complete stupidity. Saying 'he implemented socialist programs' as an attack is doubly stupid - the government's job is not to protect capitalism, it is to look after the people. During FDR's time, with no public safety net and 25% unemployment, he did what was necessary to stabilize society. Anyone who would list FDR as a bad president due to social security and the WPA would say Hitler was underrated because he fixed German roads.

Its a good think if these EU morons consider Bush the worst President...The same thing they claim about every effective Republican President, think Regan in the 1980's...Bush has done his job and protected the US from falling for the same Socialist junk the EU can't get enough of. Bush should wear this attack as a badge of honor!

From the page: "Professor Ole O Moen, who has followed American politics most of his career, has just written a book about all the US presidents. Aftenposten's weekly magazine A-magasinet asked Moen to choose who he thinks are the five best presidents and the five worst. Two members of the Republican party landed as both the worst and the best presidents. Bush, in Moen's opinion, is the worst. "His administration stands for a dangerous blend of arrogance and ignorance,"

I'm supposed to care how an obscure Norwegian professor ranks our American presidents?
trsdos rated 8 months ago
Oh well since a Norwegian said it, must be true. Wrong dumb as its Jimmy Carter, hands down. Any of you young twits remember double digit mortgage rates. And that's just the tip of the ice berg.

Nope. Worst president in U.S. history is still Jimmy Carter.

This guy's book sounds pretty interesting. He has ranked all the presidents from worst to best. In the article he names the five worst and five best. Who's the worst over all in his opinion? GWB. Fucking shock that is. I think if the Christian God existed his own God would rank him the most terrible[or should I say tyrannical?] president. He didn't even talk about encroaching on civil liberties. He went over some light reasons why the douche is a terrible president. He could have painted the President much worse. Shocking Jimmy Carter wasn't mentioned, and I think what got him out of the top 5 was his philanthropic attitudes, and he didn't send thousands to get themselves killed needlessly on illegal pretenses.
