At first I said "Hey, I totally did this for personal use a long time ago." but then I read the article to realize it was fucktarded.I actually created a calculator that was a front end for truecrypt, but the twist was that it stored the path to your truecrypt file (which could be named anything) AES encrypted using a seperate password. So you create the file, type the "pin" to unlock the calculator, and then type the password for your truecrypt volume which was used to decrypt the file's location and then mount your truecrypt partition.

Silly blogger.. You knew you would upset the security nerds. I'm again it... Now.. Off to sit behind my obscure Linux Distro as though it were a shield.

It's now law in the UK, that encrypted files must have their decryption passwords provided to "the authorities" if requested, or you have a criminal record. That's probably not very "secure" for data you simply must encrypt. Such a "silly idea" like this could help hinder knowledge that such files even exist. There are cleverer ways, like the encryption method that has two passwords, one giving harmless data, the other giving your files.

I'm finding this pretty useful, it allows me to keep my little text file with all my passwords nicely hidden & protected.
