I support home schooling as a choice. This is a great response to the benfits of home schooling IF the parents are committed to excellence (which most I work with are). I especially like the comments about "experts" versus parents. Read and make up your own minds!

Socialism and the latest group-think fads (eg: global warming) are more effectively taught in a public school situation. Driven people will learn despite their public school experience and homeschooling, ideally, produces greater diversity of thought and greater understanding of the basics and the issues.

Public schools were first made popular by Germany to heard the public towards military service and create a populace of followers rather than individuals. Not all schools necessarily encourage you to join the military, but the OBEY OBEY OBEY mentality is sure there.

Excellent points that all "anti-homeschooling" people need to read.
