- I don't get it. When you start involving swat and helicopters and tear gas and such, as an operation it starts getting really expensive. High level brass makes these decisions and I doubt they would put their asses on the line by brutally breaking up a party with thousands of witnesses and cameras if they weren't legally allowed to. I am not siding with cops, but it seems to me the party throwers may have screwed up.

- Theres so much US state terrorism both domestically and internationally that I am essentially going to have to start filtering the less compelling stuff out of my blog. The stuff where there isn't a bleeding corpse on video. I find myself relentlessly posting US state terrorism articles to my blog. Its not even news any more.

- Power leads to abuse. I'm not surprised this happened, but it's sad to think that The USA has fallen so far. Freedom is just a word down there now, and it doesn't matter who takes over for Bush, that undercurrent of violent repression has always and will always be there, no matter whether the government is Republican or Democrat. - It disgusts me that things like this happen anywhere, but especially in the "land of the free." This did really happen, by the way, as there's footage of the insanity on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrKR0yFrP8I Unbelievable. How much will the American people take before we finally push back? Or will we continue to lower our heads and nod in submission?
