What do you think about this big electoral college mapsage? www.fivethirtyeight.com and www.electoral-vote.com

Probably the least useful of the big electoral college maps. Also didn't update with election results until the Thursday following. Prefer fivethirtyeight.com and electoral-vote.com, or the various TV networks' interactive maps. Yahoo! News had a good one, too.

It's very interesting how political trends change over time. For example, California, which many see to be one of the most consistently liberal states in the country, voted Republican for every president between (and including) Nixon through Bush Sr. Another example, we now see the South voting with the great plains/Midwestern states, but only a few years ago the South tended to vote with the Northeast and against the West.

Look at this! Look what I just stumbled upon!! A McCain/Obama election simulator! Looks great, but I don't know where the polls are coming from.
