I'll be honest - today's lead article in the NY Times Style Section put me on a rollercoaster this morning: * Outrage: Why is the Times running a half-page image of a woman's legs splayed out of a shopping bag?! * Hope: But wait...the title of the article, "When Is a Fashion Ad Not a Fashion Ad?" When it's sexist? When it equates women with objects for sale? Maybe the Times is taking on images of women in advertising, even if they are using offensive art to do so. * Disappointment: Because, of course, that wasn't the point of the article. The answer to the headline seems to be that a fashion ad isn't a fashion ad...when it's art.

Fucking stupid objectification of women. Fucking stupid sexist pigs. Fucking stupid assholes who think women are products, who think feminism is dead, who think women have won.

I'm not sure this is so much a feminist issue. I think you need to know about Posh and her image to get it.
