- It's cool that he gave the kid some stuff for buying the empty box. If they knew ahead of time that they would be receiving some sort of gift for buying the box would that not be incentive to bid on the empty box?

- I don't think everybody's reading the whole page; the guy stated explicitly that the auction was for the box only (like 4 or 5 times), and he included a 4GB Ipod Nano, $40 of gift cards, and Xmas Pez dispensers as a surprise gift. The guy got well over 150 dollars worth of free gifts; what's the problem?
