clevercryptic rated 9 months agoactivism - From the page: "SWISS BANK JULIUS BAER DROPS ENTIRE CASE AGAINST WIKILEAKS"
arleas rated 9 months agoactivism, wiki, journalism, whistleblowing - The URL works now. The US Government should have known better than to try to censor the net. For one thing, there's probably sites willing to mirror this if necessary, and for another thing, it creates the Streisand Effect which means that even if nobody cared before, we will sure as hell care once you try to keep us from it. Keep the Internet free folks. It's bad enough that it's the last bastion of Freedom that America has. Don't let it be a memory. Just to be on the safe side though, I'll leave the mirror thumbed up. As long as we still let asshats run things, there's always another chance they'll try to ban it again.
TOMTHUMB rated 10 months agoactivism - leaking safely is under attack. Whistleblowers are about the only thing left to protect free information
doubleohd rated 10 months agoactivism, government, justice, politics, whistleblowers - even if the injunction order is sustained, wikileaks will stay alive via these other sites that are hosted outside the US' jurisdiction. Yay!
alice44 rated 10 months agoactivism - things to watch ...
