Marcus-Lycus rated 22 months agocomputer-science - Homemade in VermontIn November last year five students in an intro Computing course at Bennington College, Vermont were inspired to design and build their own microprocessor and crazy enough to think they could do it. Though atypical at other computer science programs, these doughty students were encouraged to give it a try. They worked long evenings and weekends and with the guidance of their instructor completed the project just before winter break. These students will end up going much farther than their peers. A firm grasp of what is going on "inside" the machine opens the door to all kinds of knowledge. I commend these students for going the extra mile. Now for the hot and cold tests, the shock and vibration tests, and the static electricity tests. Well... that's for another course. Good work! Not sure what the little yellow guy on one of the far circuit boards is for. Must have been asleep during that class. Not chip nor wire nor even fly...it's just lil' ol' me...Yellow Guy!
