just wanted to throw down a couple cents myself while i'm here... if you are REVIEWING a website that obviously already exists, i'm sorry but there is just no good reason to copy it word for freakin word. that is not a review. that is PLAGIARISM! if you're trying to promote a site, why steal from it and make it redundant, _AND_ LESS likely your audience will actually visit it? ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS CLICK AND READ IT ON THE PAGE THEMSELVES! isn't that the whole point? is it really that hard? and also, when you check out the SU review page for a site, it looks REALLY DUMB to see review after review of "From the page:", "From the page:", "From the page:", comprising of the exact same full text. that is as usefull as nothing.P if you can't come up with your own brief, concise description, or a usefull, representative quote or two, PLEAS JUST LEAVE IT BLANK. otherwise, you just look really dumb, and make SU look really dumb.

From the page: "STOP QUOTING THE ENTIRE PAGE! I JUST READ IT, I DON'T NEED TO READ IT AGAIN From the page: "If you want to demoralize or abuse a design team, get in the back seat and tell them how to drive while they're designing. Wait until you're in production rounds to change your mind or change direction. These things will produce a hash of bad work and bad feelings. It amazes me that so many people actually work this way and get anything done. If you're looking for a winning recipe to get great design, use 5 parts direction to every 1 part feedback. (Direction is defined as taking place before sketch rounds) I've learned that when I give effective direction that I get effective design. It's as simple as that. When things have gone sideways, it's almost always been my fault, not the fault of the designers. If your design team brings something back to you that is completely off the mark, your written direction document (Creative Brief) provides an excellent point-of-departure for a conversation about why your designers took things where they went. This gives you a leg to stand on when you ask them to go back to the drawing board. Or, you may discover that what you thought was clear direction was read differently from your intentions.""

This is in response to the fellow who put a picture up complaining about people whole-quoting pages; I quote whole pages myself not to piss people off but because I know there are people who don't use SU and read my review pages thus I can give them THE WHOLE STORY by quoting the whole page instead of making them constantly have to click on a link. Makes sense to me really. So in clicking on the review page button and finding the whole page quoted by me and it pisses you off then just scroll on down AND IGNORE IT.

From the page:>>"STOP QUOTING THE ENTIRE PAGE! I JUST READ IT, I DON'T NEED TO READ IT AGAIN" From Charles: - Actually this pages grumble really depends on how you approach SU, newbies often just use the Stumble button, the more entrenched stumblers who choose to stumble stumblers often spend as much time if not more time reading the SU pages of other members - in these circumstances we WON'T HAVE READ THE PAGE ALREADY. Granted blogging an entire article maybe excessive, a few choice sentences is my own general preferred method, enough to pique someone's interest, but I wouldn't pretend I haven't included the entire quote on occasion - or mostly written my own thoughts down as here - as a more recognisable review. More to the point using the SU button we stumble a web page first - the reviews are optional, an after thought, and one we can choose to read or ignore; to complain like this is really quite small minded IMHO, however when reading a SU page the reviews are the point, - the gate way to a page and by extension a site in general, so the quotes in part or in full are relevant in my experience, that's not to say some SU pages aren't to my taste - but that's the nature of SU, its a broad church, and better for it.
