"Hidden passages have a long history of appearing in fictional novels and films but an even richer past in reality dating back to Egyptian tombs passages for Christians to worship in hiding from Romans. Over the years hidden passages have been used to arrest kings and evacuate popes, hide shogun warriors, facilitate guerrilla fighters, enable drug smugglers and conceal serial killers. In recent times, however, many more modest individuals have created (or discovered) secret passages in ordinary everyday households and there are even companies dedicated to designing secret doors, rooms and passages in middle-class houses."

Hidden Rooms - More homes should be built with these - Built well, they are functional conversation pieces or simply great places to escape from daily life or perhaps imminent danger :).

From the page: "In some cases the discovery of a secret room is a wonderful find but it can also be a twisted nightmare." The hellish twisted nightmare of... MOLD! wow. What a fucking let down.

If I stumbled(no pun intended) on one of these in my house, I would bail in a heartbeat. Because I've seen enough movies to know only disaster will follow. Either: A)The guy who took the rap for the robbery will show up looking for the money he stashed there-soon to be followed by the rest of the gang who've been waiting for him to to just that. B)Somebody got waxed in the secret room and their restless ghost has been waiting to be discovered so they can unleash terrible vengeance. C)Its a gateway to the Realm of the Cenobites.
