I had a collection of these letters years ago. They are thoughtful -- even beautiful. It never occurred to me that I'd ever see the originals -- with the drawings. Fabulous site. (holy christmas: i rated this site 44 months ago!)

i didn't know he was religious. i knew his father was a clergyman, but these letters give me a window to look through at van Gogh's soul.

i wish i knew this site when i was doing my project about van gogh
