The Santa Billboard is SO shocking and sad and I don't know if I would really agree with one being put up like this still...it shocks you into thinking... I have never really believed it is a good idea to trick kids into the Santa Thing, although we have played along, I made sure that I...

A Brit in Mexico... kind of my opposite, I'm from South Texas and lived in England for a little while. One time I saw a very Mexican customized van (flags, curb feelers, actual Mexican license plate) driving down the high street in New Cross Gate, it was surreal.

Glad I stumbled upon Wavehunter's blog see image below From the page: "Of course, the potted history in this article fails to mention that Texas left Mexico because the Mexican government abolished slavery; nor that California, Arizona, etc, were signed away at gunpoint; and it should be no surprise that it uses the word 'American' to refer to those from the US, an appropriation which offends people from Tijuana to Tierra del Fuego. (Although I'm sure I've been guilty of this in the past.) Yet the fact that the populations of these states just north of the wall would be, at a guess, 99-1 in favour of remaining on the US side speaks volumes of the mismanagement of Mexico by successive governments. Either way, it's a weak willed person whose drinking habits are dictated by advertising."
