voice-of-reason discovered 34 months ago- Well, thank you for the kind comments, everyone. :-) I seem to be the only Stumbler who likes *Solving Big Equations* !!??!! Surely not!! -- Come on, the rest of you! ;-)

LittleGhost rated 4 months ago- As the Mother of two would be Science Geeks I loved these pages.

Isadore rated 14 months ago- What a great avatar you have!

aRTy-nz rated 16 months ago- I very nearly moved on from these pages and then hit the science section where I got absorbed in some excellent finds.

isatcjk rated 17 months ago- Nice stuff. One comment on traffic cameras...there have been documented instances where city authorities have manipulated the timing on traffic lights, in order to maximize traffic violation fine revenue. ...at the expense of safety. There was a nice analysis of this, I think in the Wisconsin State Journal, I think in 2006.

jenjen1352 rated 19 months ago- Presumably for this to apply, the room would have to be located at the North Pole, on a vessel encased in pack ice between the months of September and March. At non-polar latitudes you would be wanting to run East and take the room with you. A strategy of running East along the equator at a speed of approximately 1037.5 mph would ensure maximal prolongation of night independently of any effect on planetary angular momentum. For honours students: what is the slowest course around the globe compatible with a permanent sojourn in the night zone, assuming zero change in planetary angular momentum and a (theoretical) unobstructed path at sea-level? What is the speed of that course? (p.s. I'm asking here because I don't know the answer!) Okaay then. All quite technical so far. And even earlier in his pages the delightful voice-of-reason highlights a little known but exceedingly worrying fact; that Initial Rentokil make school dinners. Now I know these names. One is synonymous with disposal of sanitary protection, and the other with pest extermination. I don't really wish to pursue that train of thought any further, thank you. However, just in case you were starting to feel too confuzzled, along comes this: From the page: "'Post to Blog' -- how come I never noticed that button so far?" This man, voice-of-reason, is a truly great and humble human being. It is with deep reverence that I promptly 'friend' him, knowing that while he is probably an excellent medical man and computer technogeek, he has no greater powers of observation than any other much less competent male, when it comes to the little things that make life SOO much easier. Yay! Thank you very much indeed, v-o-r.

DickBeldin rated 21 months ago- After many months of ignoring the Voice's pages, I have come to check them out.
I have to admit to having enjoyed Solving Big Equations in a former life, but now I'm quite happy to let Voice have a monopoly on it.
Good clean fun and witty observations.
I'll pass on the Lutefisk but you can fill my plate with bacon and potatoes and peas. The lager and aquavit would be almost essential with the original recipe, I fear, although I might try substituting nut-brown-ale for lager.- After many months of ignoring the Voice's pages, I have come to check them out.

festerson rated 21 months ago- Straight from Muppet Labs comes voice-of-reason. Honest reviews of sites. Interesting tales. Nice mix of stumbles. Huzzah!

- Voice-of-reason will have many great adventures in far off lands, before settling down to run a fresh bread shop in Abergavenny.
