Amonthia rated 5 months agoeconomics, movies, video - The root of all evil is dangling there, hydroponically, requiring nothing more than air and promissory notes to survive.

The last few minutes were something truly bizarre to behold. But, excluding that, I am partial to the message; the road we're on leads to a large cliff with a lot of pointy, jagged rocks at the bottom, and we're bombing along at twice the speed of sound, in a rocket powered, gold plated car with no brakes---Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!
And that is why I am endorsing the Climate Shitfest method of ecological catastrophe. I figure, if we toast the envirnoment we're used to, we'll wipe out existing social structures, along with about half the population, and we might be able to build something a bit more rational. Of course, the whole thing could dissolve into an unrecoverable nightmare of holocausts and death, but that's a chance I'm willing to take.

"Technology" solves problems, not money, politics or religion.
We need more Weapons of Mass Creation!!
Sustainability and abundance will never occur in a profit system, because sustainability and abundance are the enemies of profit.
The redesign of our culture, will come through a change in consciousness. Intelligent management of the earth's resources could create a society of such abundance that everything we need could come without a price tag. Freedom.
The world is uninformed about the state of our technology today. We could do it now. For example, Geothermal power can generate massive amounts of thermal energy. The earth has a ball of fire inside of it. It's here. We just need to go get it. A "mag lev" train could replace planes. Maximum speed 361 miles per hour in Japan already. The future version can go 4,000 miles per hour!! What is holding us back?? Profit structure and greed.
We are racing against time to get these technologies in place before our world financial systems collapse. Or perhaps it will take the collapse of our monetary system to bring the new world into existence.
Interesting ideas.
