- I have a great empathy for the Muslim people. They are about 20% of the world's population, as I understand it. They are all being lumped together as an object of hate and suspicion, which grieves me. It is always important to see people as individuals created in the image of G_D and worthy of respect for this reason. Hatred and oppression of any people is wrong. I appreciate the pain of being misunderstood, despised, and rejected, but I also think that the Muslim community must understand that there are people daily being killed in the name of Islam. The world has been hurt and offended (what an understatement!) Holy people have always repented and prayed for the sins of their people. Islam would do well to do likewise. "People of the book", be they from any of the world's monotheistic faiths, need to turn regularly to G_D and pray for the repentance of their people, and for peace to reign.
