Superb 1 hour documentary by Bruce Parry on the Babongo forest people of Gabon, part of BBC2's "Tribes" series. Culminating in a Bwiti ceremony (and a hefty dose of iboga), it's a very intimate account. Parry is a genial, enthusiastic and humble man who gains the trust and respect of the locals. More info here.

The Babongo people seem like a very loving wonderful people that were willing to share apart of themselves with an outsider. He seems to have taken the best of what they had to offer with him and share it with all of us.

I intended to go to sleep an hour ago and my next Stumble was this video. I watched it and now I'm going to sleep at 5AM. But that doesn't matter. It was amazing. And I don't work for the next 3 days anyway. So sleep isn't too important right now.

stunning.....this one hour documentary reinstates what a simple people have known all through the ages ...that we are all interconnected, our actions cause reactions, ripples so to speak on this earth,to one another...Our life's spirit so invaluable as one to a community of many.... We are losing this and becoming detatched more and more each day.The power of touch and the power of listening and to listen to one another. The importance of family, loved ones. This is beyond scope and yet again not.........

A very strong video worth seeing. To feel the earth connection, to feel the self and mind. To become raw and open... experience who you really are and where you came from... and the joys of love and connectedness, growth and rebirth.

Probably the most fascinating episode in an outstanding series 'Tribe'. Living for weeks as the tribal people he stays with do, Bruce Parry never fails to get to the heart of the culture he is exploring. Superb.
