interesting but the narration is ill informed about the nature of black holes, continually confusing characteristics of all black holes as being exclusive to super massive ones (such as how their gravity is so intense that not even light can escape. or how they have singularities at their centers... more

Well, it's a very "Hollywood" documentary (over-dramatic music and effects, impeding doom and that narrator from those movie trailers) but still awesome and very easy to understand - if not too easy. I wish the American media didn't put DOOM in every thing they make but what can we do? People love that stuff - Ironic? And it misses out so much about black holes in general. There was no mention of small black holes (not dramatic enough now?) I wonder what's at the centre of the universe ...

The discovery of massive black holes may hold the key to the beginning -- and the end -- of galaxies. While the information is surely fascinating, the background music (and often the artist's illustrations) is so overly dramatic that it was simply funny, and can serve as an example of what-not-to-do for composers and directors out there.

I love watching these video's, so amazed about it, who's the genius behind all this?

Are supermassive black holes playing the key role in how galaxies are formed? This is actually an interesting documentary on the recent research... if you manage to tolerate the horribly overdramatic style, some inaccuracies about black holes, and the mandatory visions of our impending doom.

For the most part, interesting, but very confused on the nature of black holes and for some bloody reason the Discovery Channel decided to throw a "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" tag at the end, which caused the thumbs down.

A vision of our end? Shouldn't be presented that way! But it's worth to watch, at least first half of it..
