KingBoy discovered 23 months ago- Experience changes the brain. If you're up to date on neuroscience you will appreciate how the brain's plasticity, its perpetual remoulding, underlies the physiological value of meditation, ongoing critical feedback and conscious integration. This Berkeley webcast is a series of uplifting discussions on meditation. 'There's a great giant ocean of pure consciousness within every human being.' David Lynch answers questions on meditation, consciousness, ideas and his paintings/films/ideas. Next, Kilby Award-winning physicist John Hagelin takes a more scientific approach to meditation's benefits. Hagelin is followed by Fred Travis, whose presentation includes a live EEG demo in and out of meditation. Hagelin talks a little more, then it's back to Lynch. All three speakers are deeply committed to spreading inner knowledge, bliss and global awareness as an antidote to violence, anger and fear. The video is almost two hours long - too long for some, I suppose, but my only criticism is the large number of redundant questions asked of Lynch.

David Lynch - Consciousness, Creativity, and the Brain

themagus555 rated 7 months ago- here is the TM technique, posted by a critic but who cares: http://minet.org/mantras.html

big-radio rated 8 months ago- I read a little piece in Utne Reader a few months ago about David Lynch and how he stumbled upon the benefits of meditation. Been a fan of David's since "Eraserhead" and, since then, I have found the search for a glimpse into the workings of "how it all works" something I can't escape. Alan Watts also urges me on.You might also be interested in George Lakoff's and Jonathan Haidt's studies into cognitive psychology.

Monkeygod06 rated 15 months ago- I'm going to have to re-watch a few of his films, with some of these thoughts in my mind.

beertje rated 18 months ago- This is so wonderful.

norteo rated 20 months ago- This is a must see. David Lynch talking about the conciousness, meditation, world peace, etc. Also, A medical expert in the brain shows up explaining stuff. The EPG of a student is analyzed with closed eyes, open eyes, and in meditative state. And of course, DL answers some questions about his movies. Understandably, he seems to have a if-you-dont-get-it-you-think-harder policy. It is a long video but in my opinion a very good one if you like this kind of stuff. Enjoy.
