Where does our food come from? Disturbing and moving, Us vs. Animals documentary. Exposes the barbarity and cowardice behind the meat diet. (Including the 'sacred' practice of kosher slaughter.) Narrated by Joaquin Phoenix, music by Moby. "If slaughterhouses had glass walls, surely we would all be vegetarians."

Caption says it succinctly. Plow through the first 7 minutes before you get to the five ways humanity depends on other species for existence.

This is an amazing Documentary... holy cow! (excuse the pun). This should be watched everywhere! In high schools and universities, at community centers and in everyone's home. It should be watched before meals, and before a shopping spree, and before biology labs. It should be watched by all Earthlings - all whites and blacks, yellows and reds. By all men and women and in betweens. By pet owners and animal lovers and haters. By those that create laws and stand above the masses. And within the masses, and mass-media. It should be plastered on every store and every restaurant. It should be vivid within each consciousness... so that we can awaken and elevate those of our kind - those who are, them too, Earthlings.

I've have been enlightened and disturbed by this video. Truth is that I'll never become a vegetarian, but it's hard to look at eating meat the same from now on.

World Vegetarian Week: May 19th to May 26th. "You have dined, and however scrupulously the slaughterhouse is concealed in the distance of miles, there is complicity." - Ralph Waldo Emerson. "Of all the creatures, man is the most detestable. Of the entire brood, he's the one that possesses malice. He is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. The fact that man knows right from wrong proves his intellectual superiority to the other creatures; but the fact that he can do wrong proves his moral inferiority to any creature that cannot." - Mark Twain. In commemoration of vegetarian week, I suggest watching this amazing documenatry called "Earthlings". The documenatry speaks about humanity's absolute dependence on animals (for pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and scientific research) but also illustrates our complete disrespect for these so-called "non-human providers." The film is narrated by Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix and features music by the critically acclaimed platinum artist Moby. "Ignorance has prevailed so long only because people do not want to find out the truth."

It's just so upsetting but surely nowadays we can all find humane slaughter for animals can't we? I have cut down but I would find it so hard to give up meat.. I always buy organic and free range too! I suppose I just pray they were slaughtered as well as the life they led! hmm lots to think about

"Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances of survival of life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet" Albert Einstein. Tolerance, acceptance and love....it is not that hard.
