From the page: Interesting how the families who spend the most have some of the least healthy/least appetizing foods. I'm also amazed at how much (and how little) some people spend on food -- as much as $500 a week for only four people.

The differences in dinner tables are not surprising at all. As people of choices we have a wealth of many including an abundance of crap to eat. If we stop being lazy, read and get familiar with nutritional values of food and simplify our lives the tables would look a lot different in the US.
