This article is mostly acurate, but there are some things that I take issue with:

1. Timing
This is the most common piece of advice I see peddled on the internet, and I would say that it's largely inaccurate. For the vast majority of people, 3 meals are all that one needs. Having a number of smaller meals throughout the day puts extra strain on our digestive system and can lower energy levels. For some, a number of smaller meals is needed (including those on The Zone diet), but in my experience it is a slim minority of people who are biologically like this. Eat enough to carry you to your next meal, with a large lunch (since we will need most of this energy between 12 and 6pm), and a light dinner.

2. Portions
Portion size is important; especially for Americans who are used to extra large portions. Like I said previously, eat enough to carry yourself to the next meal. Unless you can't figure out how to eat a balanced meal, I wouldn't follow the portion size outline that the author gives very strictly. There's no magic number; you have to find what works best for you.

3. Eat slowly.
No arguments here. Just wanted to re-emphasize. Eat slowly! Enjoy your food! As Dr. John Douillard says "make it a ritual".

4. Snacks.
pretty much.. but low cal popcorn? Ok, maybe we're dealing with a dietician here. Calories don't matter. Carbs don't matter. What matters, is the quality of the food. Most of this low fat/cal/carb/whatever food is very poor quality.

5. Long Life Cocktail.
Never heard of it, but it can't hurt.

6. Dairy and Wheat products
Here's a better idea: check the quality of the dairy you're drinking! Is it conventional dairy with high pesticide residues? antibiotics? growth hormones? Stay away from that junk. Stick with Organic or (if you can find it) Raw Milk. Almond Milk, followed by Rice Milk, are good non-dairy substitutes, but stay away from Soy! Soy Milk is bad mmkay?

7. Sugar.
Stick with either organic unrefined sugar or (better yet) honey.

8. Fiber
Here we go with the numbers game again. No one can tell you what magic number is right for you. Everyone is a different ethnicity, from different regions, with different genes, and grew up on different foods. I'm no fiber hater, just find what works for you. If the numbers the author provided work well, then do it. Otherwise, don't force yourself to follow the magic numbers.

9. "100% Whole Grains."
if it says "refined" on the ingredients list, don't buy it.
