The current legislation doesn't focus on costs at all, it's just changing it so that rather than buying health care ourselves or through insurance companies, we just pay for it in the form of more taxes. Either way, we end up paying the same overall. In reality though, I would imagine we will pay more as the government will hire ten's of thousands of useless bureaucrats and middlemen to manage the system. Why would the US Government run Health Care any different than everything else they run?
