Darque rated 19 months ago- Yet another example of Bill O'Reilly being exposed as a childish, petulant, whiny egomaniac. The crime here is that he still has an audience of people so inured to his pathological diatribes that they are deluded into thinking that it passes as political debate. Here's the reality: in the world of debate, points go to those master surgeons who craft their words with the accuracy of a scalpel. O'Reilly, meanwhile, is a cudgel, with all the precision of a gang rape.

The kid actually prepared a bit for a hostile interview. I have an excellent post on how to prepare for those in my blog. Knowing that hostile interviewers will only give you 8 or 16 if they are generous - before they start trying to cut you off or talk over you - will likely use a misleading 'lead-in' and other tricks - you need to practice getting your wad out in the shortest amount of time as possible and learn to talk over people. Preparing for a hostile interview is quite different from a friendly one. Considering the subject matter, the kid did okay. Talk radio (call in) is an even worse position to be in as there is a time delay and they can always burn up a few seconds of that time delay to mute you out and disconnect the call. Generally speaking though, on talk radio - you have the first 16 seconds to say your wad before they go into that mode - however, most shows use screeners, and its helpful to give an 'alternate' version of what you want to talk about to the screeners if you know they will be hostile to it.
These days, with the uber managed media, some of the shows that have 'call in's' are really only the illusion of having call ins. They have their own people to call in and do talking points, and you will never get through. I highly suspect C-Span is this way. sort of like the testimonials on shopping channels. Even when O'Reilly had a radio program (he may still?) a lot of the callers were of the managed type, just not all of them, they all, however, had to get past the pre-screeners.
