Lets create ANOTHER DEPARTMENT inside a department (Homeland security) that costs a $TON$ already ? The GOV already has privatized part of the military and sent the contracts to Bush-Co anyway (Like Blackwater, Gulianni partners etc...) SNIP... "The Commission may procure the services of experts and consultants" SNIP... "conduct research on the motivational factors that lead to violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism" SNIP... "In carrying out this section, the Secretary may choose to either create a new Center designed exclusively for the purpose stated herein or identify and expand an existing Department of Homeland Security Center"

Anitra rated 7 months ago- This bill would set up a commission with even more chilling effects than McCarthy's HUAC. Ten Commissioners, across the country, would have the power to subpoena anyone they suspect of "radical ideologies." If you get called up by X in Maine and Y in Nebraska, you are going to jail somewhere.

From the page:"Welcome to 1984. The brave new world order. A clockwork red, white and blue. The equilibrium between the children of men..."
Change has become outlawed if it isn't made by those in power. In fact you must not even speak of change. Or else they'll throw you in REX-84.
"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." - Herman Goering 1939

- This bill is so vaguely worded that it can be construed to prohibit ANY speech regarding any aspect of the United States. Its intention is to criminalize actions that are already criminal in nature, so its only real purpose will be to place restrictions on speech. EVERY POST CRITICAL OF THIS BILL CAN BE CONSTRUED AS CRIMINAL IF THIS BILL PASSES.

ccannizz11 rated 7 months ago- yes, the thought-police, just what we need.

nooner rated 7 months ago- Thanks for this: http://sayit.stumbleupon.com/ From the page: "110th CONGRESS 1st Session H. R. 1955 AN ACT To prevent homegrown terrorism, and for other purposes. "(3) The Internet has aided in facilitating violent radicalization, ideologically based violence, and the homegrown terrorism process in the United States by providing access to broad and constant streams of terrorist-related propaganda to United States citizens. Passed the House of Representatives October 23, 2007. Attest: lorraine c. miller, Clerk "

- This all started with the Patriot Act, which was written and passed within a couple days of 911. So I quess to call Bush a fascistis against the law.....whoopsssss.

azkpetrz rated 7 months ago- Steve Klein of Kleiners Korner says this about this link-- `THE END OF FREE SPEECH IN AMERICA" "The end of Free Speech in America has arrived at our doorstep. It's a new law called the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act, and it is worded in a clever way that could allow the U.S. government to arrest and incarcerate any individual who speaks out against the Bush Administration, the war on Iraq, the Department of Homeland Security or any government agency (including the FDA). The law has already passed the House on a traitorous vote of 405 to 6, and it is now being considered in the Senate where a vote is imminent... This bill is the beginning of the end of Free Speech in America. If it passes, all the information sources you know and trust could be shut down and their authors imprisoned... Byron Richards, Len Horowitz, Paul Craig Roberts, Greg Palast, Ron Paul and even Al Gore could all be arrested, silenced and incarcerated. This is not an exaggeration. It is a literal reading of the law, which you can check yourself here:--

- OK - so this essentially says to me that should any of us color outside the lines in the coloring book of those currently in power, we will have our crayons taken away. bad children. i don't know about y'all but - i don't like people messin' with my crayons dammit!

fireforchrist rated 8 months ago- According to this bill I am a radical terrorist? "(3) The Internet has aided in facilitating violent radicalization, ideologically based violence, and the homegrown terrorism process in the United States by providing access to broad and constant streams of terrorist-related propaganda to United States citizens." "The term `ideologically based violence' means the use, planned use, or threatened use of force or violence by a group or individual to promote the group or individual's political, religious, or social beliefs." is this what they are talking about? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek4ooEyYBAc could this be included? http://www.lewrockwell.com/ostrowski/ostrowski87.html this definitely should be included http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UGXVic15ho Yes I think Colbert is someone who needs to be called a homegrown terrorist, and there is no doubt that anyone involved with info wars is guilty under this law if it is passed. Just linking to their webpage could make you a homegrown terrorist. What I have put in this post could make me a homegrown terrorist. One last thing, the department of homeland security is to make sure the "staff of commission" (the people in charge of carrying this out) shall not violate the constitution. Does this make me feel any safer? No. Do not thumb this down it needs to get out!
