From the page: "˛The Pirate - because it supports the freedom akin the original pirates who fought against the large corporations and governments in the sea. Some of those original pirates were run-away slaves, who were fighting to preserve their individual freedom. łThe Bay - because this is a place where you can feel safe from oppression. " WHAT? Do you seriously think pirates hijacked ships because of some sort of anti-corporate feeling? THEY ATTACKED SHIPS BECAUSE THEY WANTED MONEY. The original etymology of "pirate" means "sea robber", among possibly other meanings. Check it out: http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=pirate . Trying to identify yourself with the original pirates is just stupid, the modern concept isn't related at all. We're more like counterfeiters or copiers. Also, what praxisflip wrote below. Then check out the meaning of "bay": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bay . IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH "FEELING SAFE FROM OPPRESSION". The word you're looking for is "haven". I can't thumb this up if it starts with such bad arguments.

Keep on "rebelling" you little whiney wannabe-pirate assclowns. You probably would have run to mommy after receiving the first letter from the RIAA. I just don't like that tone...

I allready use freenet and frost and I can tell you that this is unusable for filesharing. it's just too fsking slow. Freenet is meant for information in the form of html pages. frost is meant for information in the form of usenet posts. it's not meant for sharing gigabytes of movies.

Setting up Freenet as a substitute for the Pirate Bay. It sounds good on paper, but don't know how well this would work in practice. Freenet tends to be exceedingly slow.
