Draker rated 5 months ago- I was fine with this until the author started spouting the fallacious science is an autocratic overlord crap. The author claims first that scientific exploration contradicts itself like that is a bad thing, or creates some kind of paradox. If hypotheses or even theories did not change when new evidence is discovered and rigorously studied, then it wouldn't be science...it would be religion. Also, please remember that a negative result is more important than a positive one. Secondly, "pioneers" of new and far out hypotheses (NOT theories...not YET anyway) are not disregarded. Items found far outside the standard deviation are simply expected to stand up to more rigorous standards of experimentation than those found within the center of the bell curve. Only when there can be no experimental or observable evidence to support the hypothesis is refuted. Even then, it is not "disregarded" but what data IS collected from the experimental process is used to modify the original hypothesis and continue the investigation. This is just another example of misunderstanding of how scientific study works. bleargh, I'm tired of this.
