Kudos to this blogger for stating his position including the reasons behind his beliefs clearly and publicly. Very insightful.

You have to care about real PR - not toolbar PR - if you care about SE rankings and traffic.
Toolbar PR reduction which we see now is specifically targeted at link buyers and sellers. Everyone would want a link from a PR7 or PR6 blog - very few from a PR5 or PR4 blog. Lo, Google has done exactly that.
Everyone seems to be agitated about the PR reduction. Why? It is like a badge of honour or something. If low PR = low traffic, WORRY. Right now it doesn't seem to be the case.
Not a single one of those who complain about Google are talking about traffic loss. It is all about "How can Google do this to us?"
Google has taken away a big motivation for link selling and buying. I see nothing else - as of now. Stop whining, everyone.

I've gone through the entire spectrum of emotion over the deal trying to figure out how it would affect what I do and how I do it. After sleeping on the matter for the past day and reading the opinions of lots of other people who were affected, I'm inclined to let Google shoot themselves in the foot."
BartTheBear rated 12 months ago- I think that a class action suite claiming that Google is using unfair business practices is in order.
Take it from a triple propeller headed geek (me), Google "thinks" it is helping the world. It is just another low life enslaving corporation. They "think" they can enslave us too. They are just practicing their ego. They are all SPACE CADETS.
Boycott Google...

From the page: "As one commenter in my previous post noted, this is classic FUD. That theory rings really loudly in my ears and I'm inclined to go with that theory. Google slaps down a bunch of prominent people, lets the buzz take over and hope that the warning shot would be taken seriously by the rest of the blogosphere. Well, Google can kiss my derričre.
I'm not inclined to change the way I do things, nor am I inclined to recommend anyone else change what they do, how they do it or try to avoid Google PageRank penalties in the future. In the case of my blog, I have not broken any rules nor have I pimped my blog in some way to artificially manipulate SERPs or PageRanking. In fact, what I've done is no different that the bulk of other legitimate blogs.
Let me summarize what Google exists for, from the perspective of a blogger, content producer and user."
Key points made (from the page):
"What Google has shown with their zealous adjustments on PageRank is that content really is not all that important. What is offered to the world is really not that relevant. What is relevant is playing by Google's dictates. When they say jump, if you jump, you'll rank high in PageRank. Realistically, PageRank is about the only leverage Google has to influence relevance and by penalizing those that are highly relevant arbitrarily, they have devalued the perception of PageRank beyond its already low perception."
