1] The software this article mentions is all Windows software from what I saw. 2] Exactly how long will your 8 TB take to upload?? I have ADSL with 256k up, I would need ... well over a month to fill it. And yeah, when Google gets sick of the local drive hacks, where's your data?

It may be against the T&Cs (what isn't these days), however I bet google don't really care at the moment.I'm sure it wouldn't take too much work for them to kill webmail account based back up solutions like this. Which they will do, if people start taking the piss and setting up hundreds of accounts. So, in conclusion, this can GTFO.

Very informative piece what they dont tell you is that it is against your terms of use policy for Gmail to access Gmail with third party software. I did this with Gspace a firefox extension. After a certain amount of transfer Gmail logged me out for twenty four hours
