Linux developers/power users are so out of touch with the needs of the general public, and then they wonder why no one but them wants to use their free superior operating system.
I use Linux when I'm pen testing, and BSD for servers/firewalls; so I'm not mindlessly bashing. - Don't forget folks, people don't like choices.

- I really like Ubuntu. It really does fit my needs, but it's a world apart and as happy as I can be within the Debian/Linux realm, this difference is in itself a good reason to avoid it. As far as regular folks are concerned, they're better off with whatever everyone else has, no matter the cost of their choice. Asking them to change OS would be much like asking the United States to adopt French as the official language and then switch to metric. No matter the quality of your sales pitch, their utmost concern will always be the trouble of change. No matter how much I want to disagree with myself here, we do have to account for that ugly reality.

- A not so serious view on the advantages of Ubuntu. Actually most of the advantages are related to Linux in general.

- the irony is that the only people who will ever read this are linux fanboys who want their opinions reinforced. Ironically these are the people that spend so much time editing config files on the command line, and doing the other crap that comes with the territory. Fairly delusional.

- Wow. Totally tongue in ass. Ubuntu is for recovering Mac addicts, not real computer users. I actually tried to install this shit once, and it failed halfway through installation. I went back to SuSE/Vista. Now I don't suck.
