Great list of films: Logan's Run, Soylent Green, War of the Worlds, City of Children, Planet of the Apes, Escape from New York, etc. They're all here (except for the charlie Chaplin the site's authors admitted to forgetting about). #1 on the list? the original Metropolis from the 1920's. Don't know what dystopian means? Click here and find out!

i've seen all but 3 of the films on this list. excellent list, except that district 13 sounds much more like reality where i live, except that no parkour experts are fighting the drug dealers. both jean pierre jeunet (direntor of amelie) and francois traffuat have more than one entry on this list, which really impress me.
