I agree with JakkoJ about the crappy UI, but other than that Slashdot always provides me with all the interesting stuff that is going on in 'nerd world'.. Keep up the good work guys!

Does an entire section of Slashdot need to be stumbled? Probably not, but well...

Okay, it isn't the culture, or the subject material I have a problem with, it's simply because there is a tremendous slant towards academia on this site as opposed to real world experience. I have watched Slashdot grow from its infancy (back when Malda used to hang out in #linuxos), and I slowly started becoming less and less impressed from this site due to the community, editors, and the like. I think sites like StumbleUpon are much more functional as you can pick and choose the people who give you more interesting finds. And no, this isn't about another person slamming Slashdot since it became "mainstream". I haven't read Slashdot in years as it bores me. I do enjoy other OSDN sites such as Newsforge, but Slashdot simply doesn't cut it. Kudos to their finding articles and subjects to discuss, but I would never claim that the site approaches any subject with open mindedness.

A mix of old "news" and the worst kind of girlfriend-free nerds. Not fun at all. Avoid this place if you value your time.
