- God didn't do anything at all, because God was made up by people who didn't understand how the world really works. Cannabis sativa is one of the world's oldest cultivated plants. Just like every other living thing on the planet it came about by evolution. The fact that it's very useful to humans has probably been a major factor in its continued survival as a species. An acre of Cannabis also absorbs CO2 at a higher rate than an acre of trees, so planting lots of it would be a potential solution to global warming.
