An amusing little article from Seth Godin which had me chuckling on the train home this evening! Godin emphasizes the importance of seeking 'the' status; a demonstration of one's dominance within a particular field. As competition for marketshare has intensified, the importance of establishing oneself as the market leader has quickly become obvious. It is by positioning the organisation as industry standard bearer that such status can be achieved. Establishing such a feat is easier said than done though, and is often the produce of consistent exquisite quality; a standard for which all organisation's should already be striving.
