Seth suggests renaming the HR department "Talent" and treating it that way. Brilliant.

Seth, enjoyed your thoughts. Interestingly, I'm transitioning from 15 years in HR at a Fortune 60 Company and we have started using "Talent Management" so your idea has legs. I have always thought that colleges/universities should have course on "How to act as an employee"... it would have run me out of my business if they had. Thankfully they didn't have a course so I had plenty of "untalented" issues to deal with in my HR job. Looking forward to reading more as I transition into the world of Marketing with my brother, the other side of MarketingTwins.com. Human Resources vs Talent. I never really thought of it that way. But this is a really good analysis of the concept.

This post is so right on. Our complacency with accepting terms like Human Resources blinds us. A company will either thrive or be mediocre based on the "talent" that is hired.

This is an excellent view on human resources and the management of talent within organizations.

It's not HR, it's Talent that fuels everything!

This fellow is a topnotch marketer--the best I know of on the web--and a darn nice, congenial guy. His posts on his blog are godsends to anyone interested in improving their marketing and general business approach and acumen.

HR or Talent - which company would you want to work for?
