I dream, literally dream, of the day when I can abandon this meat prison. When they can lift my brain up and out of this shell and set it in something that doesn't hurt to ride in. And every day the tools get closer and closer to being here. Case in point.

I'm getting doubts about donating my body to science when I die. I wouldn't like to serve drinks as an automated trolley in some university cafeteria :-) Never the less, great article

Kevin Warwick's robot. I'm kicking myself for not checking his most recent research for a few months.

Facepalm at thebestwalrus' comment. This is mainly just scientists falling face first into a pile of dung and finding a diamond inside. These robots they're making are extremely primitive and limited to a maximum lifespan of 2 years. The best application is to use this research, not to build biological robots, but to advance the field of neural networks. Besides, we already have cyborgs, just look up research on prosthetic limbs. It's just that the dream of eternal life as a cyborg is retarded.

AWESOME! I've been telling my friends for years that I would be alive as a cyborg long after they had died. I usually get a "you're an idiot" look, but clearly my dream is in progress!!!

The first step to conscious robots. Interesting, I hope they know what they're doing.
