There are more poor and middle class voters than rich voters, and so if a politician wants to win votes, the easiest thing to do is reduce taxes for the poor and middle class while increasing taxes on corporations and the rich. Everyone thinks the tax system is great so long as they aren't the ones footing the bill.

The Rich man got rich by exploiting the poor. It's only fair that he should pay for the drinks. OR he could pay the poor respectable and fair wages for their labor so they don't have to depend on others to pay things for them. I'm not ragging on the rich I'm just saying we'd have a lot less problems if the rich weren't so obsessed with being so and having more.
