This is a thoughtful blog post about the role of the tech blogger.

I'd been avoiding reading this, because I tend to want to walk the opposite way of whatever "the crowd" is looking at. But I must defer to crowd wisdom this time, it's a great post.

This is one of Robert's best posts. At last, someone takes a moment to stop and think about the act of blogging. Not another "7 Ways to..." or "10 Tips about..." post, but a true moment of reflection about why one blogs, and whether it's just commercial, just for the links, or if there's still a spark of personal passion in the subjects being written about.

Robert pens a long but very thoughtful and sincere post on how tech blogging -- and indeed, much of blogging in general -- has failed us all. He higlights problems such as the priority of "First!!!" over strong analysis, of jumping to the latest shiny thing incessantly, of focusing on the business rather than the humanity of online communications. I don't always agree with Robert, but he's spot on here. This is a great post worth reading and bookmarking.
