only 2001 here comes anywhere near relevance. cant you see: the overwhelming majority of science fiction up to this point has been fearmongering and childishness, or worse, metaphyscial superstitious bullshit without any real significance. they wanted us to be afraid of the future and of machines and of what we can create and what we can become. they wanted us to think that there is something special that means an ai can't be a conscious beings. except instead of saying 'soul' like the religious idiots, they said 'emotions' or 'compassion'. they wanted us to fear and cling to the meat.

One nice list with -old- sci-fi movies,
Dr.Strangelove, Planet of the apes, Space Odyssey AMONG OTHERS that I frankly haven't heard of before.

But I might just go on a retro sci-fi movie-watching marathon based on this list.

Raquel Welch did wonders in expanding the horizons and hopes of many teenagers in the late 60s and even in the late 70s when little brats like me got their hands on their cousins mags. I was never the same when parts of my brain (of unknown existence to me) started working overtime.
